Edited June 29, 2020
VT50 Race Registration Update from our race director.Vermont 50 Race Registration is Postponed Until June 29, 2020 7 p.m. ET
The Race Committee met and discussed our upcoming Vermont 50 Mountain Bike or Ultra Run race. The State of Vermont is still under an Executive Order to “Stay at Home”. Currently, the governor’s COVID-19 response team has ordered the hospitality industry in the state to be closed but hotels, inns, B&Bs etc. can begin taking reservations on or after June 15, 2020-however these reservations may be cancelled if the Executive Order* is extended.
The committee must comply with the Governor’s Executive Order and has decided to push back our race registration date until June 29, 2020 at 7 p.m. ET.(Loyalty registration will now open on June 15—added to VIP List email)
With these uncertain times, please be aware that we still may have to cancel the 2020 Vermont 50 race in consideration of all the health concerns .We will keep you updated weekly on the status of the governor’s decision on large gatherings. And on any modifications that will need to be implemented for our race to proceed as scheduled on Sunday, September 27, 2020.
Our race is a major fundraiser for Vermont Adaptive .Like so many non-profits, Vermont Adaptive has had many of its fundraising events cancelled. They rely on the money raised by these events to continue to provide their programing to their students of all abilities, regardless of ability to pay for instruction. Please consider a direct donation to Vermont Adaptive so they may continue their mission to help these athletes.
We hope you all are staying safe and that you and your families are well.
Keep training,
Mike Silverman. Race Director.
*Lodging Reservations.
