STRESS FREE REGISTRATION OPTION Commit to raise a minimum $500 before September 7 at noon ET, you can avoid our race open registration rush on May 25th and will be entered into the race by the Race Director. Your $500 must be received by Sept. 7 or you will not be able to race with us on the last Sunday of September.
You must contact the Race Director, Mike before May 25 at 7 p.m. if you’d like to choose this option.
The race will consist of trails throughout the ski resort where there will be a 5 K loop ending at the top of the mountain and runners will take the ski lift back down.
There will also be a 10K loop which will continue up and down the mountain.
50K runners will do the 10K loop 5 times.
Since the weather can be unpredictable this time of year, this event is open to the possibility of straight trail running, micro spikes, or even snow shoes.
Exact information weather conditions will come out two weeks prior to the race but don’t worry, there will be snow shoe rentals on site if needed. The elevation for each length are: 5K 1200’ of gain 10K 2000’ of gain 50k 10,000’ of gain
All finishers will receive a race medal and all DNF’s will receive a birch twig.
The Vermont 50 Mountain Bike or Ultra Run is THIS WEEKEND.
We are looking for volunteers to help welcome the Mountain Bikers (50 miles) and Runners (50 mile and 50Km) to this race, which benefits Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports.
The race takes place on Sunday, September 26th 6 am.-6:30 p.m.
Race Start and Finish areas are at Ascutney Outdoors in Brownsville, VT.
The finish line meal on Sunday (which Volunteers get for FREE! along with a SWEET T-shirt) is catered by Brownsville Butcher and Pantry!
Volunteers are still NEEDED for:
–Helping to SET UP the Base Camp at Ascutney Outdoors on Friday
–Helping to PARK cars on Saturday and Sunday
–Helping to get CAMPERS settled on Saturday
–Helping out at the FINISH LINE on Sunday
–AID STATION spots are still open but filling fast
–Helping to CLEAN UP on Monday

Vermont 50 During Times of COVID-19
Vermont state is fully open, however, the Vermont 50 is striving to keep you, our race community and volunteers safe from COVID-19.
Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated.
Masks are required in ALL indoor spaces at our race-specifically the BIG TENT. We are also requiring “masks on” while you are at our aid stations. There will be plenty of hand sanitizer around so please use it liberally.
Our aid station volunteers will be wearing masks too and will also be wearing gloves to protect you and them.
And speaking of Volunteers…

Know Your Race Wave
Please check out the Rave Wave page on our website. We’ll have corrals set up on Saturday so you can check out where we will be staging the race waves on Sunday after the racer meeting.
Start Penalties If you start in a wave ahead of your designated wave/category/age group: your start time will be moved back to the wave time you were classified in and an additional 20 minutes will be added to your finishing time.

Reminders and Other Stuff:
Pre-Riding or Running the course on Saturday is NOT allowed and has never been allowed. THIS APPLIES TO EVERYONE. Failure to comply could cause our landowners to close their properties to our race.
Horse Event on Saturday, Sept. 25
STAY OFF OUR RACE COURSE Saturday there will be a Horse Event, and they are using many of the same trails we will be using Sunday. This part of our course is owned by horse owners and they do not want runners or mountain bikers on these trails on SATURDAY.
If you come across a horse and rider on the course Sunday, no matter when/where, the horse and rider have the first right of way on the road or trail. It is important for you talk to the rider as you approach them. The rider will instruct you on how to proceed-DO NOT PASS THEM WITHOUT THE RIDER’S OK TO DO SO. THIS APPLIES TO VEHICLES ON THE ROAD too.
Hartland Bridge Closed
If you are traveling to Ascutney Outdoors and using exit 9 on Interstate 91, make sure you go towards Windsor, NOT Hartland. There is a slight detour and it will slow you down, especially if it is Sunday morning. Bridge work is happening until the end of the month.
Camping at VT50
Camping space reservations are over 75 this year and we usually have under 40. Directions to the camping area will be given at packet pick up on Saturday.
For all those camping, there will be NO CAMPFIRES or NO OPEN FLAMES you will be camping in a hay field with dry grass.
Port-o-lets available. Please use them.
Remember NO BIG RVs-you will be turned away.
NO Overnight Parking
There is NO overnight parking in the main lot. The lot will be cleared before 9:30 PM on Saturday evening. Either you move your car or we will have it towed for you-at your expense.
The morning race rush needs every available parking spot.
Carpooling is encouraged!
