Weekend Weather-The Keyword this Weekend is HYDRATE
Have you seen the weather forecast for race weekend? Well…
This weekend looks to be unseasonably hot for the first weekend of fall.
Start hydrating now! And stay hydrated through race weekend. We’ll have as much ice as we can buy at the aid stations but have your crews bring some for you too!
Drink plenty of water, don’t get thirsty.
We’ll have salt and electrolytes at the aid stations, use them or bring your own.

We really need help at Coon Club Aid Station #1 Aid Station
The race is approaching and VOLUNTEERS ARE STILL NEEDED at few aid stations, at the kids race and the finish line. If you have some time Friday, Sept. 22, Saturday Sept. 23, Sunday Sept. 24 or Monday Sept. 25-we’ll put you to work!
Lots of jobs to do, many skills needed, we’ll find you something.
AND you’ll get Sunday lunch and a t-shirt!

In one week we’ll be hosting our 25th Annual Vermont 50 Mountain Bike or Ultra-run. “It’s all happening.”

Mandatory 50 Mile Racer Check-in Opens.
Parking is at the Ascutney Mountain Base Lodge, one way in/one way out road. THERE WILL BE TRAFFIC, Please plan ahead and leave plenty of time. Follow the signs to the designated parking area. Please DO NOT park where it is signed DO NOT PARK and please obey the Volunteer Parking Attendants.

50 Mile pre-race meeting is at 5:30 am SHARP. You must check in the morning of the race to participate.

Wave 1 6:00 (EXPERT 27-34)
Wave 1B 6:00 (ALL SINGLESPEED)
Wave 2 6:05 (EXPERT 26 & UNDER)
Wave 2B 6:05 (EXPERT 35 & OVER)
Wave 3 6:10 (SPORT 35-44)
Wave 4 6:15 (SPORT 45-64)
Wave 5 6:20 (SPORT 34 & UNDER)
Wave 5B 6:20 (SPORT 65 & OVER)
Wave 5C 6:20 (SPORT CLYDES)
Wave 6 6:25 (NOVICE & TANDEM)

If you start in a wave ahead of your designated wave/category/age group, your start time will be moved back to the wave time you were classified in and an additional 20 minutes will be added to your finishing time. Your time starts when the chip in your Bib/Plaque crosses the timing mat.
The race cut off time for everyone is 6:30 p.m.
Mandatory 50 Km Race check-in and Pre-Race Meeting at 7:30 a.m.
Pacer Van runs from Cunningham’s Parking lot (The Big Tent) to Aid Station #9 Stone’s from: 9 am until about 4 pm every 45 minutes. If a Pacer was not registered on Saturday, they can pick up their Pacer Bib in the Van before being transported to Aid Station #9 Stone’s to meet their runner.
Official Race Merchandise Table Open. For online pick up and race weekend retail sales. We accept cash, checks and most major credit cards.
YOGA Stretch and Recover Yoga at the finish line – Flyway Yoga will be on-site to help racers stretch out and answer questions about how to stay limber after the race. Open to racers, families, crew, and Ascutney community. Read more and sign up with Flyway Yoga.
Sunday Post Race Meal prepared by Coventry Catering

Pulled Pork Sandwiches Buns on Side, Mahogany Chicken – Baked Thighs, World’s Best Macaroni and Cheese, Spaghetti, Sauce and Meatballs on side, Vegetarian Lasagna, Taboule, Black Bean Salad with Quinoa, Tossed Green Salad, Variety Rolls, Assorted Homemade Cookies, Drinks: Iced tea and Lemonade, Sodas, Water
This meal is NOT self served and is NOT all-you-can-eat. This food is provided to feed our race participants, volunteers and landowners. Thank you for your cooperation.
Mtn Bikers your wristband or Runners Race Bib pull tab will be your meal ticket.
Finish Line Massage
Sports therapy massage provided by Denise Gebroe and volunteers from the Vermont Chapter of AMTA. 7-10 tables will be available for 10-15 minutes of sports massage. This service is free but donations are greatly appreciated.

Awards and Prizes on Sunday afternoon:
Mtn Bikers at approx.1:00 PM
Runners at approx. 2:30 PM
Plaques and prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each category.
